- A succinct document that is easy to read and follow that describes
excellence in the 3 - 5 year window ahead.
- The document clearly defines the primary elements and within those
elements a clear definition of the goal and how one would recognise
success.
- Behind this would be a detailed measurement process, which defines
the various levels from basic through to absolute delivery of the
standards desired in simple language.
- The documentation would enable any organisation to self measure progress
against the standards defined.
- This level of detail would enable any business to define its progress
every 6-9 months and to highlight areas for improvement and further
focus in the next period of time.
- Provides a simple but effective capability for Board level review.
Note:
In many cases, the need for such clarity emerges as a consequence
of either a crisis facing the business, or as a result of a Purchasing
Performance Benchmarking review which often identifies the need
for fundamental structural and cultural change over a sustained period
in order to deliver the values desired by the business.
