Note: It is quite feasible that a client will perceive a problem and make an initial request for help in this area without considering the upstream activities or implications. The supply chain management may not be the true issue. The consultant must assess quickly whether there are issues behind the request that need to be addressed first. This should become clear following discussions on why the activity has been requested and initial discussions around business needs.
